Careers in Literature

Career planning is a process, and it takes time. It begins with self assessment and search into career fields, sectors or industries, and employer. Now a day, written and oral communication, editing, problem solving, critical thinking, and analysis are highly prized by employers in nearly every profession. The opportunity that is given to a literature major is working in advertising, editing, publishing, journalism, communications, mass media, and other professions where writers and editors are in demand. The skills that they gain from it are more practically valuable than they may think. They should be aware for their careers, it can be very competitive, and unless theyfre dedicated to the industry and have the work experience record to show it. It is a career advantage if they have a knowledge in second language and cultures that provided literature majors.
